HR and Universities together to build the future
Giorgia Ferretti’s contribution to the AI project.
Collaboration between academia and business today represents one of the fundamental pillars for building solid skills and preparing tomorrow’s professionals for the challenges of the world of work. This is the context in which the company’s HR Manager, Giorgia Ferretti, participated in a major project carried out in collaboration with Confindustria Piacenza and the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart of Piacenza.
The multi-step program involved students developing projects dedicated to the use of Artificial Intelligence in Human Resources, a highly topical subject and increasingly central to corporate strategies. During the initiative, Giorgia had the opportunity to listen to and evaluate the proposals presented by the students, actively engaging with other HR Managers from various local companies.
The work explored key areas of the HR function, including recruiting and selection, onboarding, feedback and performance management systems, career development and talent management, engagement, climate and organizational well-being, up to the themes of Diversity & Inclusion and Corporate Social Responsibility. Students explored how AI can support these processes, further improving their effectiveness, data analysis, and decision-making ability, always with full respect for ethics and the centrality of the person.
The project included group work sessions and shared evaluation sessions, fostering a constructive exchange between academia and business. An experience that allowed us to bring theoretical skills and concrete business perspectives into dialogue, offering students a direct comparison with HR professionals. At the end of the course, Giorgia contributed to the final grade of the student exam, bringing the company’s perspective to the evaluation of the submitted projects. A role of great responsibility that testifies to the company’s commitment to supporting training initiatives and enhancing the talent of the new generations.
Participation in projects of this type strengthens Caseificio Valcolatte’s connection with the local area and confirms the company’s constant focus on innovation, training and skills development-key and strategic elements for successfully navigating the ongoing transformations.
